What My Startup Isn’t
Well, I’ve recently taken the plunge and decided to start my own web startup. Whilst I’m not yet ready to reveal what I am doing, I do feel ready to reveal some of the many things that I’m not doing:
- A social networking site (MySpace, Facebook, etc…)
- A photo sharing service (PhotoBucket, Flickr, Zooomr, etc…)
- A video sharing service (YouTube, …)
- A social music site (Last.fm, …)
- A Google Maps “mash-up” (or any kind of mapping site)
- Online “Office” software/services/solutions
- Web based Project Planning / Bug Tracking / Task Management
- Blogging software / Tumbleblogging software / Twitter clone/competitor
- Webmail / chat / VOIP / messaging / etc…
- Online photo or video editing
- A user configurable “home page” service
